The influence of Photoheme and Photosense Russian photosensitizers on blood

2000
We have investigated the dynamics of the content of two Russian photosensitizers-Photoheme (derivative of hematoporphyrin) and Photosense (sulfoderivative of aluminum phthalocyanine)-in a blood plasma of patients during the photodynamic therapy of tumors, simultaneously studying changes in lipoprotein oxidation and antioxidant activity of blood plasma for the same patients. Photosensitizers were detected in blood plasma within 30 days after the photodynamic therapy session. Variations in the level and dynamics of Photosense and Photoheme content in the blood plasma of patients were revealed. Changes in the lipoprotein oxidation level of blood serum and the activity of blood leukocytes in the blood of patients have been observed within 30 days after the photodynamic therapy of tumors.
