The Computational Load Balancing through the Orbital Computer Network of the Internet of Things

2019
The issues considered concern to the Computational Load Balancing through the LEO Internet of Things Satellite System with an Orbital Computer Network, built on the basis of the "Distributed Satellite" Architecture using Nanosatellites/CubeSats and implementing the "Fog Computing" concept. The Satellite-Computer are involved into each "Distributed Satellite" in the Orbital Segment of the Internet of Things System for the "Fog Computing" concept realization. The Orbital Distributed Computer Network is built on the basis of the Satellite-Computers. The interaction peculiarities of Satellite-Computers as part of the Orbital Distributed Computer Network of the Orbital Segment of the LEO Satellite Internet of Things System are considered. Based on the operational characteristics analysis, an algorithm for the Computational Load Balancing was proposed. The proposals on balancing of the excess computational load being originated in certain regions of the service area of the LEO Satellite Internet of Things System are presented, involving the capacity of the neighboring Satellite-Computers in its orbital plane and in the neighboring orbital planes. An algorithm is proposed for the computational load displacement to subpolar and oceanic regions.
