Análisis de la progresión del daño en laminados compuestos con concentrador de tensiones bajo cargas de tracción

In this work, the behavior of a thick multidirectional CFRP laminate representative of aerospace components, is analyzed under quasi-static tensile loads. The non-destructive digital image correlation (DIC) technique was applied in this study. The goal is to characterize the influence of a stress concentrator through the strain distribution during quasi-static tests. Tensile tests showed that the strain distribution around the hole is able to predict the beginning and progression of the crack in the outer layers. Finally, the experimental tests were simulated numerically using the finite element method, showing good agreement between the numerical and experimental results, and thus obtaining information from the innermost layers.
