Sustaining Employee Commitment in the Workplace

The paper analyses the underlying reasons for low standards of performance in many manufacturing companies. Traditional management approaches are reviewed and weaknesses highlighted. A paradigm shift is recommended by using organisational redesign as a key element in a company wide improvement strategy. This approach is likely to be the leading edge practice for the 1990s as innovative companies seek our approaches which meet the needs of its own people and the organisation.
