Improvement of Direct Torque Control of Wind Energy Conversion System Based on Dual Stator Induction Generator using Matrix Converter

2019
This work proposes an improved direct torque control based on direct matrix converter (DMC) of a variable speed wind energy conversion system (WECS). The conversion chain employs a Dual Star Induction Generator DSIG. The suggested control algorithm is touched two parts in WECS, which are the control of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and the improvement of DTC performance of DSIG. The characteristics of DMC are used for improving the control performances (flux, torque, speed, the input power factor) and to combine the advantages of DMC with the DTC scheme. DMC gives sinusoidal input and output voltages and a unity power factor. Simulation results acquired with Matlab-Simulink are shown to exhibit the improvement in execution of the proposed scheme.
