Contour Model of Digital Economy in The Process of Increasing Competitiveness of Countries and Regions

This article discusses the concept of digitalization in terms of its components. It has been determined that the main elements of the digital economy are technology, a competent population and related infrastructure. Based on the analyzed literature, the authors propose their own contour model of the digital economy, the main purpose of which is to increase national competitiveness. The first contour of the model is the interaction of the four main subjects of the digital economy - individuals, multinational corporations (MNCs), government and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The second contour consists of two main processes of this interaction – e-commerce and e-business. The third, concluding, contour includes factors necessary for the successful functioning of the digital economy. This is a well-functioning digital infrastructure, social and educational policies adapted to new challenges, government support for large and small business structures and their innovative focus. The reliability of the model is confirmed by correlation and regression analysis. The official Russian statistics on digital coverage and internal research costs are used as variables. Resulting indicator - GDP growth over the past 10 years.
