Rapid algorithm based on mesh to determine stamping direction of automobile panels

The stamping direction is important for the forming quality of automobile panels.To determine the reasonable direction of the panel,taking the stamping direction vector as design variable based on mesh data of automobile panels,an algorithm model was established based on the criteria such as avoidance of dead angle,minimization of drawing depth,and maximization of initial contact area.The corresponding program module was developed in Visual C++ using unit sperical mesh intersection algorithm to get the feasible stamping direction vector domain rapidly.The feasibility of the algorithm was proved by the creation of stamping directions of some practical parts and the relevant numerical simulation of stamping depth.
