¿Quiénes son las mujeres faltantes en el Ecuador? Una aproximación cuantitativa

2018
In Ecuador two hundred and thirty one thousand (231,000) women were considered missing in 2010 due to factors of discrimination and exclusion. This was most remarkable amongst women who consider themselves black, “montubias” or mulattos. Among these ethnic groups, the absence of women increases with age; in the age group 19 to 34 years, the black population has the lowest proportion, with only 0,78 women for each man. This cannot be explained by migration as when this is analyzed according to sex, using the information of international entries and exits, more men than women have left the country, a fact that confirms the existence of the problem of missing women
