Preparation and properties of polymeric adsorbents containing p-aminomethylphenylboric groups☆

A number of polymeric adsorbents containing p-aminomethylphenylboric acid groupings has been synthesized by reactions involving natural and synthetic polymers. The specific sorption properties of the products, brought about by formation of complexes with the arylboric groupings, have been studied with respect to cis-diols. It is shown that the bipolar structure of the boron containing polymers promotes complex-formation of a wide range of pH values.
