Relationship of Ureaplasma urealyticum,Seminal Leucocyte and Sperm Concentration

Objective To study relationships of Ureaplasma urealyticum,seminal leucocytes and sperm concentration.Methods 275 semen samples of male infertility were tested by computer assisted sperm analysis.To analyze U.urealyticum,the culture method was used.Seminal leucocytes were measured using Benzedrine staining method.Results U.urealyticum positive rate was 31.64%.The rate of abnormal seminal leucocytes was 30.11%.Sperm concentration of U.urealyticum positive group were significantly lower than that of corresponding negative group(P0.05).Sperm concentration of abnormal leucocytes group were significantly lower than that of normal leucocytes group(P0.05).There was significantly difference of abnormal leucocytes cases between U.urealyticum positive group and corresponding negative group(P0.05).Sperm concentration of abnormal leucocytes group in U.urealyticum positive group were significantly lower than that of corresponding normal leucocytes group and UU negative group(P0.001).In UU negative group,there was no difference of sperm concentration between abnormal and normal leucocytes group(P0.05).Conclusion Sperm concentration is related with U.urealyticum and seminal leucocytes.Infection of U.urealyticum could trigger to produce leucocytes,and influence on sperm concentration by mechanism of leucocytes.
