Urban freight transportation systems: current trends and prospects for the future

Abstract This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the trends and challenges of urban freight transportation systems discussed in the previous chapters of this book. By examining various areas such as the application of new technologies, deployment of electric vehicles, and logistics concepts, research implications along with an exploration of future research directions for production, logistics, and traffic in urban areas are presented.
