Exploration of attributes influencing productivity in opencast mines

The glorious super cycle of mining industry from 2002 to 2010 is gone. Presently, the industry is struggling with a range of challenges concerned with productivity. To identify the productivity influencing attributes, this study specifically aims at exploring such attributes and codifying them with a colour code system in prioritising them in operation action plans. In total, 29 attributes collected from previous literatures and field experts were tested through principal component analysis using a purposive or judgemental sampling of 225 and primary data were collected using a five-point Likert scale from Indian massively deposited opencast mines. Further, based on the loading factors of attributes, a colour codification system was linked to prioritise all impacting attributes.
