MEMBRANE EXTRACTION OF COPPER AND MERCURY WITH MACROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS

1990
The transport of copper, mercury, and cobalt through impregnated liquid and emulsion membranes containing solutions of macrocyclic compounds (MCC) in organic solvents acting as carriers has been investigated. The mechanism of transport of the copper and mercury was studied. The limiting stages of the process are the reactions of metal re-extraction at the face of the membrane-accepted solution
