Luminescence studies of ultrafast energy transfer oscillations in dimers

Abstract The intramolecular electronic excitation transfer in 9,9'-bifluorene and 2,2'-binaphthyl showed weak oscillations. These oscillations correspond to a coherent transport of the exciton. A model is presented that describes this coherent transport for which molecular dynamics computer simulations have been incorporated.
