There was a trend towards lower preoperative leukocyte counts in the leukodepletion-group (gray boxes) as compared to the control-group (white boxes; P=0.050). There were no group differences at any of the later time points [overall comparison: P=0.19; comparison per day: day of surgery to postoperative day (POD) 3: P=0.22, P=0.41, P=0.46, and P=0.19].
