THE SIGNALDIGITALPROCESSINGINTHE MILLIMETER BAND FMCW RADAR

2007
Thefrequency-modulated continuous wave-radars - (FMCW-radars) arewidely applied inthecarroad safety systems, theaircraft altimeters, thefusion plasma microwave diagnostics andinother ranging systemsof different usage.Themostoptimal choice intermsofthe"cost-quality" criterion fortheradars that function at tensofmetersdistances isatransceiving sethomodyne circuitry preference. TheGunnoscillators andSchottky diode barrier mixers usageinsuchradar setslet one create solid-state midget microwave detectors ofdifferent purposes. However, designing thetransceiving set-based measuring system, one isconfronted withanumberof difficulties, depended on thehighrequirements overthetransmitted waveshape andthegenerator andreception pathgainfrequency responseslinearity. Suchproblems solution ina tradition way, applying linearizers andanalog processing circuits, considerably complicates andraises aprice ofthedetectors manufacturing, especially forthemass production. Oneoftheways ofthese problems solution isthesignal digital processing andshaping methods bymeans ofthe microprocessor units application.
