RECENT ADVANCES IN DISAGGREGATE DEMAND MODELLING

1984
The available methods for analysing and predicting the demand for transport systems have historically used aggregate data and models with continuous, dependent data. For a variety of theoretical and practical reasons, more recent travel demand modelling now uses disaggregate (or micro level) information and models of consumer choice when faced with discrete transportation alternatives. This paper reviews the essential elements of these new methods, with special emphasis on the multinomial logit model. (TRRL)
