Method of producing a powder-like polymer

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a powdery polymer for easily performing crushing sufficiently finely, even on a highly adhesive hydrous gelatinous polymer to obtain a powdery polymer with a high molecular weight. SOLUTION: The method for producing a powdery polymer includes a polymerization process for polymerizing a water-soluble monomer in an aqueous medium to obtain a hydrous gelatinous polymer, a rough crushing process for roughly crushing the hydrous gelatinous polymer by an extruder with a rotary blade to obtain beads-shaped polymer gel, a cutting and crushing process for cutting and crushing the beads-shaped polymer gel by means of a body rotational drum type crusher 1, which has a main drum rotation part 10 with a tilted rotation axis and one or more polymer gel stirring baffle plates extending from the inside wall face to the rotation axis X, to obtain granular polymer gel, and a drying and crushing process for drying and crushing the granular polymer gel to obtain the powdery polymer.
