Experimental manifestations of large kT double diffraction jets at collider energy range

1983
Abstract The perceptible amount of large k T double diffraction jets at s ≳ 10 5 GeV 2 is shown to lead to the prediction of certain experimental effects. They are: (a) an enormous increase of pion inclusive spectra at p T ≳ 4–5 GeV, (b) a positive correlation between transverse and longitudinal momenta of rapid secondaries, (c) a plato-like pion rapidity distribution in the jet direction, (d) the appearance of multicore extensive air showers (EAS) from cosmic rays, the number of cores slightly increasing with primary energy.
