MONOLATERAL CATARACT PROVOKED WITH IODOACETIC ACID

2009
Injection of iodoacetic acid (20–25 mg/5ml/5 min) into the common carotid artery led to the appearance of monolateral retinal lesions, which became ophthalmoscopically visible approximately 12 hr after the injection. After two months from the injection some lenticular opacities on the same side appear, whose evolution seems to be bound to those of the retinal lesions. The anterior aqueous humour composition results unvaried.
