Determination of the chemical composition of iron aerosols: A means of tracing the source of iron in the atmosphere

1976
Atmospheric particulate matter was studied by nuclear gamma resonance spectroscopy to determine the valence and chemical composition of iron aerosols. The method allows of source identification of iron aerosols; particularly soil-derived iron aerosols are characterized against iron coming from anthropic sources.
