Method for the differentiation of anterograde and retrograde heart failure

Method for differentiating in a patient with heart failure between (i) heart failure anterograde, (ii) retrograde heart failure Left ventricular and (iii) heart failure anterograde and retrograde cardiac left ventricular failure, the method comprising the steps of: ) determining in a sample of a patient with heart failure the ratio between the amount of props-B and the amount of NT-proPNO, b) comparing the ratio props-B and NT-proPNO determined in step a) with at least one reference ratio props-B and NT-proPNO, differing thereby from: (i) heart failure anterograde, (ii) retrograde heart failure left ventricular and (iii) heart failure anterograde and retrograde heart failure left ventricular in said patient for heart failure.
