Em busca dos direitos humanos

The article aims to discuss historical and current meanings of law and justice in social struggles that embraced ideas of equality and diversity. Our starting point is an article from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which will guide our reflection as it radically reveals the dilemmas concerning equality and difference which permeate the fights and clashes over “who” the right holder is. From a historical point of view, we will reflect on the accomplishments regarding human rights. Then, we will raise contemporary issues addressing democracy and mechanisms for obtaining justice, which anchor a society based on human rights standards.
