An Electron-Beam Sterilization System Based on a 3-MeV Linear Accelerator

The characteristics and a brief description of the construction of a sterilization system using 3 MeV accelerated electrons with 2.5 kW beam power are presented. A special feature of the system is local radiation protection which lowers the radiation level 100 mm from the outer surface of the system to 1 μSv/h.
