A Lower Bound on Packet Loss Rate in Pbit/s Optical Packet Switching Networks

2012
In this paper,we analyze the improvement in performance brought about by optimized routing in optical packet-switched(OPS) networks. The theoretical model for the lower bound on the packet loss rate can be calculated in the buffer structure, and the packet loss rate of the optimal routing algorithm can be predicted by comparing the theoretical lower bound on the packet loss rate with the packet loss rate under existing routing algorithms. In this way,the maximum performance of an OPS with optimized routing routing can be predicted.
