On the one hand, the paper describes and analyzes the results of the first nation-wide measurement of student academic workload at universities that are part of the Council of Chilean University Presidents (CRUCH), based on a select sample of academic programs. On the other hand, the paper describes the Transferable Credit System (known as SCT in Chile) established by CRUCH in late August 2006.
