HOLOCENE CLIMATE CHANGE RECORDED IN PEAT HUMIFICATION IN TIANMU MOUNTAIN REGION

Age-depth curves have been constructed using radiocarbon dates for the Qian Mutian peat profile of Tianmu Mountain area,Zhejiang Province.According to the analysis of the peat humification and LOI for this region,we can find that both the proxy indices show good correlation and identify climatic shifts since 4 200 aBP.Mainly there are three phases:early phase(4 135±40~3 200 aBP)of low humification,indicating warm and moist climate;mid phase(3 200~630 aBP) of high humification,showing dry and cool climate;and late phase(since 630 aBP) of low humification,suggesting a cool and moist climate.
