Immunological changes occurring after a training of jiu-jitsu: effect of supplementation of branched-chain amino acids This study aims to determine whether supplementation with branched-chain amino acids are effective in preventing acute immunosuppression after a training jiu jitsu. Study participants were five male athletes practicing jiu jitsu. The training was given time of 120 minutes, divided into 40 minutes of gym located, 40 minutes of techniques and 40 minutes of struggle, following the standards of a training session of the sport. The experimental protocol was performed twice, containing a one-week interval between sessions. The first evaluated the behavior of the immune system pre-and post-training without the ingestion of RTAs. In the second test was offered in two moments, pre and posttraining for all athletes water prepared with solid low calorie marketed nationally (Clight ® Zero sugar). In liquids offered to the supplemented group was also diluted 1.5 g of leucine, isoleucine 750 mg and 750 mg valine at every moment. Blood samples were collected at specific times of each session for later analysis of total and differential leukocyte count, and the enzyme creatine kinase. According to the results, the fight has influence on the immune system, featuring the classic variations already demonstrated by the exercise. Regarding the effect of intake of RTAs in the proposed protocol, in which the athletes received a total of 6g of BCAAs, and 3g before and 3g training session at the end of the session, we observed no difference in enzymatic and immunological variables analyzed. Thus, this study found that athletes tend to have jiu jitsu disturbance in the immune system after a training session of the sport.
