INFLUENCE OF THE NATURE OF ASPHALT CEMENTS ON THE FATIGUE STRENGTH OF ASPHALT-AGGREGATE MIXTURES UNDER IMPOSED STRAIN
1991
An investigation on the effect of the rheological properties of asphalt cements, for the same penetration, grade, on the fatigue life of asphalt-aggregate mixtures, under imposed strain bending, shown that the strain for 1 million cycles, was highly dependent of the origin of the binder (the ratio of the highest to the lowest strain was 1.7). Among a variety of rheological properties of the asphalt cements, the most highly related to the fatigue properties of the asphalt-aggregate mixtures was the standard deviation of the relaxation binders (RTFOT) and on binders extracted from the mixtures.
