Preparation and Application of Modified CMC Flocculating Agent

The graft copolymerization between CMC and AA were carried out with catalyst and initiator,and then the modified organic high molecular flocculating agent was synthesized.The effects of some reaction factors on the yield of flocculating agent were investigated,and the optimal experiment design was obtained.The best conditions for this experiment were as follows:the temperature was 80℃,the monomer concentration was 30%,AA:CMC=10:3,the neutralization degree of AA and NaOH was 75% and the reaction time was 4h.The turbidity removal rate reaches 97.8% and the COD removal rate is 80.9% when uses this modified flocculating agent in wastewater which is from paper making.So it can meet the requirement of treating wastewater.
