Validation of forensic body fluid identification based on empirically normalized miRNA expression data
2015
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have attracted increasing interest as a potential biomarker for forensic body fluid identification, since they not only show cell type specific expression but also exhibit a high intrinsic stability. The present study aims to identify reliable miRNA markers for the identification of five forensically relevant body fluids and to establish an intuitive approach facilitating the determination of the origin of unknown samples.
