Discussion and recommendation of the title for non-symptom HIV infectious stage.

This paper described the origin of the name of ‘non-symptom HIV infectious stage’ and the puzzle brought by the name. It approached that the symptom showed in ‘non-symptom HIV infectious stage’was relative with the infection of HIV. The name of ‘non-symptom HIV infectious stage’ was disharmony with the study situation and content of AIDS. The name didn’t describe the nature of this infecting stage, and easily to cause ambiguity. Therefore, in order to finding a new name to accord with the actuality of the clinic and pathology, we suggested using the name of ‘chronic progressive phase’.
