Carcinogenic properties of pharmaceutical agents evaluated in the IARC Monographs programme

Almost 200 pharmaceutical chemicals and groups of drugs have been evaluated for their carcinogenic properties by working groups convened by the International Agency for the Research on Cancer. Therapeutic agents are exceptional environmental carcinogens in that humans are exposed to relatively pure substances at well-defined dosages.
