On the optimization of tubular fixed-bed catalytic reactors

Abstract A study is reported of the state-constrained optimization of a pilot-scale tubular fixed-bed catalytic reactor for the synthesis of sulphur trioxide in A method is employed which by defining a modified objective function transforms the problem into an unconstrained one. A comparison is made of the perf
