Localization unit for image and position imaging equipment

The aim of the invention is to provide a localising unit which allows to locate the position of an object, especially an object in the human or animal body, in relation to different imaging and/or locating appliances and without fixing said objects by means of invasive techniques, e.g. stereotactic rings. To this end, a localising unit for imaging and locating appliances comprises a base module. Markers that can be detected by sensors (sensors of the first kind) of an imaging or locating appliance (appliance of the first kind) as well as markers that can be detected by the sensors (sensors of the second kind) of at least one other imaging or locating appliance (appliance of the second kind) are arranged in predefined positions on or in said base module.
