Rice planting calendar in the Philippines

A centralized rice planting calendar is essential in setting a planting schedule in producing Foundation Seed (FS) by PhilRice Income Generation Office (IGO) for each province in the Philippines. This will help ensure the adequate supply of seeds and its untimely distribution to existing and potential clientele. However, lack of information on time/month of planting in each province has caused untimely and delayed seed production activities. This would eventually lead to untimely distribution and reduced marketability of seeds causing increases in seed stock inventory in the warehouse. The rice planting calendar will be helpful in formulating strategies from production to marketing of seeds produced by IGO because through tha Ghantt Chart and thematic maps, it presents the details of the planting and harvesting schedules of each province and even overlaps between planting and harvesting periods and also gives a geographic presentation of the planting and harvesting schedules to visualize the timely and efficient placement of seed stocks for each province.
