BEHAVIOUR OF FRESH CONCRETE IN DIAPHRAGM WALL FOUNDATIONS
1980
Two small-scale (1/6 and 1/27) model trenches were built to study the behaviour of a deep concrete slurry trench wall foundation. The law of similarity adopted led to the preparation of two concrete units scaled down to 1/6 and 1/27, the water and cement contents of which had been determined by means of slump tests similar to the abrams cone test. The results of viscosity measurements on grouts showed the validity of the proposed law. The concrete flow in both models is comparable and enables the addition of bentonite in concrete to be shown.
