Analysis of the Rationality of the Utilization of Narcotic Drugs and Prescription Writing in Outpatient Pharmacy of Our Hospital in 2010-2012

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the utilization of narcotic drugs and evaluate the rationality of drug use in the clinic in order to provide reference for rational drug use. METHODS:Using DDD and DUI recommended by WHO as index,the utilization of narcotic drugs in our hospital during 2010-2012 were analyzed statistically in respects of drug name,dosage,usage,etc. RESULTS:Top 2 narcotic drugs in the list of frequency were Morphine sustained-release tablet and Fentanyl transdermal patch;DUI of Morphine injection,Morphine sustained-release tablet,Fentanyl transdermal patch,Oxycodone sustained-release tablet and Codeine tablet were all lower than 1,while that of meperidine was equal to 1. CONCLUSIONS:The utilization of narcotic drugs is rational basically in our hospital and there is still irrational drug use,propagate and management should be strengthened.
