Screening of Active Components from Water Extracts of Vitis Quinquangularis Rehd Leaves for Hyperlipidemia

2011
Objective To screen the effective component from water extracts of Vitis quinquangularis Rehd(VQR) leaves for hyperlipidemia, and to provide scientific basis for the further separation and purification of water extracts. Methods Alcohol-water system with AB-8 macropore absorbed resin column was used for the separation of active ingredients of water extracts of VQR leaves.Mice models of hyperlipidemia were established.Serum lipids levels, hepatic total cholesterol(TC) and triglyceride(TG) and hepatic Sudan red staining were measured. Results Water-washed part of water extracts of VQR leaves remarkably decreased serum levels of TC,TG and low-density lipoprotein(LDL),and reduce hepatic contents of TC,TG and MDA.The results of hepatic Sudan red staining showed that water-washed part of water extracts of VQR leaves had obvious effect on lowering hepatic lipid. Conclusion Water-washed part of water extracts of VQR leaves is the active component for lowering blood lipid, and its effect is equal to fenofibrate.
