Quality assurance in POCT – A cross-country comparison

As would be expected, the quality assurance regulations governing POCT methods differ in both inpatient and outpatient settings across Europe and worldwide. Despite the existing differences in the healthcare systems of the individual countries, a cross-country comparison can certainly be constructive with respect to an assessment of one’s own national directives. Similarities in quality management perspectives are definitely helpful for negotiations with the respective supervisory authorities.
