Analysis of the relative relationship of different hawthorn cultivars by RAPD.

The random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)technique was used to determine the DNA polymorphism among 20 hawthorn(Crataegus pinnitifida Bunge) cultivars.216 bands were generated by PCR when 15 10 bp arbitrary primers selected from 120 primers were used and of which 177 bands were polymorphic.The polymorphic rate was 81.9 %.There were also 27 specific bands in these polymorphic bands.The results indicated that there is high level of genetic diversity in the hawthorn cultivars.NTSYS software and UPGMA were used to calculate the genetic similarity coefficient and cluster analysis.The results indicated that the similarity coefficient was between 0.71 to 0.87,and a wild cultivar was far from others.
