고구려와 북방민족의 관계에 대한 중화인민공화국 학계의 견해
2008
A view of the People's Republic of China academic world about the relation of Koguryo and the northern nations is 'subordination'. This is based on records of tribute and installation. However the relation of Koguryo and the northern nations appeared variously according to time and object. The relation of Koguryo and Murong Xianbei(모용선비) was hostile and unfriendly. First the relation of them was superiority of Murong Xianbei but that of Koguryo later. Qidan(거란) was controlled under Koguryo and bacame a part of the army of Koguryo. They did not organize the unified political system. During the period of North and South Dynasties, Koguryo diverted Northern Wei(북위) by jointing with Rouran(유연) of northern area. And then Koguryo built up its own sphere of power in eastern area. During the period of Sui(수) and T'ang(당) dynasty, Koguryo attempted to cope with their expansion by jointing with Tujue(돌궐). The relation of Koguryo and the northern nations was that Koguryo utilized their military strength or diverted chinese dynasty by jointing with them.
