ANTROPOMETRI BAYI BARU LAHIR DAN RISIKO RELATIF TERHADAP KEMATIAN NEONATAL

1994
The study on 1274 full term new born infants (gestational age > 37 weeks) in Bogor and its surroundings revealed the highly positive relationship between birth weight and birth length (R2 = 49.0%), birth weight and chest circumference (R2 = 53.3%), birth weight and head circumference (R2 = 40.6%). Regarding the anthropometric measurrements, the size of the infants were proportional. The head circumference appears to be useful as a predictor of low birth weight. Among the infants studied, 7.0% (N = 89) belongs to intra uterine growth retardation (IUGR) as a consequence of inadequate fetal growth. The relative risk of neonatal mortality of these IUGR infants was 7.4 times greater than those of the adequate birth weight infants (> 2500g).
