SOLAR RADIATION AND ATMOSPHERIC ABSORPTION IN THE MILLIMETER WAVE REGION.

Abstract : The general goals of the millimeter program are the development of new electronic techniques and calibration techniques and the application of these developments to observational problems dealing with astronomical radio sources both within and without the solar system. During the past interval, work has continued in all these areas, with the main instrumental development being the new millimeter wave interferometer. Observational studies are either in process or complete for the following radio sources: Virgo A, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter, the sun, galactic molecular line sources, and all the observable quasi-stellar objects and related objects.
