The pancreas specific role of Fibronectin (FN) in Pancreatic Diseases

2020
The role of pancreas specific Fibronectin (FN) in pancreatic diseases was investigated in mice harboring an oncogenic Kras mutation as well as homozygous deletion of FN and compared them with mice expressing only the oncogenic Kras in exocrine pancreatic cells. In summary, pancreas specific deletion of FN had a double-edged effect in pancreatic cancer. During tumorigenesis, the role of FN should be considered as compartment-specific and clinical decision-making in pancreatic cancer should consider FN regulated therapeutic liabilities .
