Molecular biological monitoring of phyrethoid resistance in Culex pipiens pallens

Objective To establish a method that could monitor phyrethoid-resistance of Culex pipiens pallens in early stage. Methods PCR method was applied to detect the sodium channel gene of Culex pipiens pallens with special primers. Results Only type SS was tested in susceptible strain of Culex pipiens pallens.Type SS,RS and RR were tested in resistant strain. Conclusion PCR can be applied to distinguish susceptible and resistant phyrethroid Culex pipiens pallens within short time.It is valuable in rapid detection of phyrethroid resistance of mosquitoes.
