A sensitivity enhanced Sagnac temperature sensor utilizing high order modes interference

A temperature sensor is proposed by splicing a section of thin polarization-maintaining fiber in a Sagnac loop. The temperature sensitivity is enhanced by higher- order modes interference and reaches up to 1.7 nm/□.
