A dynamic network integrated engineering method for traffic congestion model
2011
The paper proposes a directed graph model and the selection of appropriate network metrics, the proposed method simulates the city traffic network. Detailed analysis of the traffic flow can be used to derive the volume changes in the city road network. The application of classical graph theory algorithm and transport engineering method makes it feasible to quantify and compute the relationship between traffic flow volume and network travelling time. By adjusting the parameters of network, the traffic congestion can be handled out in design and controls levels. This method can also be extended to the other complex spatial objects, such as the water, drainage, power networks.
