An Interference Suppression Method by Transmission Chirp Waveform with Random Repetition Interval in Fast-Chirp FMCW Radar

2019
A Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar with fast-chirp sequence signals can identify multi-target. With the increasing use of the fast-chirp FMCW radar, there will be undesired interference signals using same modulation parameter from another FMCW radar. The interference signal would cause degradation of detection performance. In this study, we propose a transmission chirp waveform with random repetition interval. In the proposal chirp waveform, the beat signal caused by another FMCW radar is dispersed, and the interference signal is suppressed. The effectiveness of the proposal method was confirmed by simulation.
