A importância da animação sociocultural no combate ao envelhecimento das instituições.

Objective: To analyze the impact that sociocultural animation activities have on the quality of services provided for the elderly, as perceived by the respective sociocultural animation professionals. It is intended to verify the importance that the profession reveals to have in the quality of institutions and social responses in the context of old age and healthy aging. Methodology: A nationwide diagnosis was carried out on the work context of sociocultural animators, their professional practice, expectations regarding the future of the activity, the quality and impact of their professional practices in the context of the elderly. The sample of 134 sociocultural animators answered an online questionnaire about professional practice and the impact of elderly institutions. Results: it was found that sociocultural animators consider the practice of activities important in these institutions, contributing positively to the quality of life of the elderly. Sociocultural animation seems to have a positive impact on the quality of services, being a differentiating factor between institutions. It is, therefore, an instrument for business/institutional promotion. Conclusion: The impact of activities seems to be quite positive in improving the quality of social responses and activities offered.
